Accounts Accountant
Newcastle
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial record keeping, timely processing of invoices and payments and support month-end procedures.
The duties will include, but are not limited to:

Reconciling bank accounts, cash & credit card accounts

Maintain debtor & creditor ledgers

VAT Returns, submitting and reconciling accounts

Processing Monthly Direct Debit Collections

Posting journals, including prepayments and accruals

Full reconciliation of accounts up to trial balance at year-end

Ensuring deadlines are met with financial bodies

Assisting with monthly billing and invoicing

Processing Payroll using sage Payroll
-
General office duties, including answering phones, dealing with queries and carrying out 'ad-hoc' duties as and when required
Experience, Knowledge & Expertise

Experience using Sage 50 Accounts package is essential and experience of Sage Payroll is desirable but not essential.

Experience of bookkeeping best practices

Experience with and proficient in spreadsheet software (e.g. Excel) for financial analysis.
Educational Qualifications – Desirable:

AAT or equivalent
Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
22 Days Holiday per annum, Pension Scheme and Life Insurance.
